Electrical Project Engineer

NOVI Energy is an energy infrastructure developer providing sustainable solutions in the U.S. across the globe. As a complete development team, we define the projects both commercially and technically, complete all permitting-related activities, and get them ready for financing. Once we have raised the financing for the project, we take it through construction and operations.

We also provide energy consulting services for government entities, private companies, and utilities in U.S. and international markets. Our team of multi-disciplinary professionals perform energy technology assessments, technical analysis and feasibility studies, economic reviews and detailed pro forma financial analysis, and project development.

Job Description

The Electrical Project Engineer will work independently and with other team members during the development of energy projects. In this position, the Electrical Project Engineer will perform site screening analyses, develop interconnection applications, conceptual layouts and designs, engineering analyses, feasibility studies, and technical assessments. The future team member will also support activities related to permitting and regulatory approvals and will focus on the electrical design support needed to complete these projects. This position is based in our office in Novi, Michigan. International and domestic travel is required to support our projects and consulting assignments.

Candidate Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Required: 3 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Required: Eligible to work in United States.
• Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the energy sector.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills desired.
• Strong analytical, basic financial, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and other engineering drawing tools can be beneficial.
• Team player with ability to work independently and achieve results in an unstructured environment.
• Exposure or experience with the energy industry – power generation, renewable energy, and energy storage systems is desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and view and create documents. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items of light to heavy weights.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically works in a business office setting and occasionally out in the field. During field activities, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, or confined spaces and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office and may become loud in field situations.
