Project Description

In September 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, NOVI Energy was one of the first companies to arrive at and to provide emergency power infrastructure services to a Colonial Pipeline Company (CPC) pumping station in Paulding, Mississippi. Approximately 20 MW of emergency power were installed and integrated to the station’s power network.

NOVI services were again requested by CPC for a period of three weeks when hurricane Rita made landfall in Texas. Our project team was deployed at multiple oil pumping stations in Beaumont, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana to coordinate the installation of approximately 30 MW of emergency power generation.

NOVI provided over 40 MW of power generation assets that operated for periods of up to one month at various locations under very difficult conditions. All mobilization, installation, commissioning, contracting, staffing for operations, and demobilization was carried out by NOVI managers and subcontractors. Through contracting strategies and successful negotiations, NOVI secured portable Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) units and mobilized a team of engineers and field technicians to coordinate the delivery and integration of the EDG system and associated equipment.
