Wind Turbine Pre-Screening & Feasibility Study

Aug 2010 - Aug 2014

Under 5 separate VA contracts, NOVI Energy was selected to be the Prime Contractor by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to determine the technical and financial feasibility of implementing a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) system at various VA campuses. These separate renewable energy projects were to help each campus and the VA in achieving their internal objectives with regard to improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Each facility’s site layout drawings, electrical one line diagrams indicating the utility supply and distribution, electrical load data including 15-minute interval data from the utility and the utility billing information were all provided and analyzed for the study. WTG size and configuration was selected based on facility load profile, VA requirements and available area. Based on the wind resource available at the location, a generating profile for the WTG was developed.

A recommended approach for project implementation and the results of the technical and   financial feasibility analysis were documented in a comprehensive feasibility study report for each location.
