NOVI Energy is developing 100 MWs of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in combination with Energy Storage systems in Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey. NOVI is acquiring land in areas with access to transmission and distribution lines and is planning on multiple systems sized 20 MW and up.
This system utilizes solar modules with high efficiency PV cells, low-iron tempered glass with anti-reflective coating, and an industry-leading warranty. The inverters are 98% CEC efficient and are designed for utility-scale applications. The mounting system is designed for easy assembly. After posts are driven, field labor will be used to unfold the racking, set it on posts, set panels, and perform connections. This system will step up the voltage to the transmission or distribution level, before evacuating power to the grid.
The energy storage systems will provide ancillary services to the Regional Transmission Operators along with dispatchable renewable power. These energy storage system will use high energy density Li-ion batteries to provide up to 4 hours of continuous power.
The installation of this system, once started, will take approximately 6 to 9 months.
